Event Overview:
As healthcare demands across the globe continue to rise, the biotechnology and medical industries stand at the threshold of a new wave of transformation. From the impact of global pandemics, to breakthroughs in the application of AI in clinical decision-making and diagnostics, to the rapid advancement of precision medicine, regenerative medicine, and digital health management, biomedicine is no longer merely an extension of a single technology. It has evolved into a strategic industry that integrates healthcare, information technology, data, manufacturing, and broader societal needs.
In recent years, the pharmaceutical industry has accelerated the adoption of AI and machine learning technologies. From early-stage compound screening in drug development, to clinical trial data analysis, and even post-market efficacy tracking, these technologies are delivered in greater efficiency and precision. At the same time, vaccine development has evolved beyond traditional approaches to embrace innovative platforms such as mRNA, DNA, and subunit vaccines, demonstrating strong potential in addressing emerging infectious diseases as well as chronic conditions. AI-driven healthcare solutions are rapidly deployed across applications such as medical imaging analysis, disease prediction, virtual care, and smart hospital systems. These advancements are not only reshaping healthcare workflows, but also fundamentally transforming traditional models of caretaking.
Amid an aging population, persistent global health threats, and mounting pressure on healthcare sustainability, developing a series of future-ready industry strategies has become a central concern.
The 2025 Biotechnology Forum organized by the Economic Daily News centers on the theme “New Strategies for the Biotech and Medical Industry.” The forum invited representatives from government, industry, academia, and research institutions to engage in in-depth exchanges and prospective discussions on key perspectives like industry trends, innovative technologies, and future strategies. Through the exchange of ideas and strategic insights, the forum aims to inspire new thinking, build consensus, and chart the next-stage vision and action roadmap for Taiwan’s biotechnology and medical industries.
